On fire

OH MY, DUBAI
Hello from Dubai! I arrived yesterday at 10pm local time and I'm having an amazing time so far. After we arrived at my boyfriends cousin place we decided to go out. Trust me, it's the best way to beat a jet lag! More stories about Dubai accompanied with pictures later, now I'll show you these pictures we shot before I left. I'm totally in love with this Jolie & Deen dress, the fit is just perfect. Even though I barely ever wear red, this dress definitely encourages me to buy more red items. Especially since my closet is slowly taken over by everything blue, it's time to come up with a new colour crush and I decided it should be red. Gotta go now, because I've to get ready for another night out. Yup, living these couple of days in Dubai to the fullest! Talk soon and meanwhile follow me on instagram @fashioncontainer to stay updated.

Jolie & Deen

FUCHSIA
A colour which I've never worn before but instantly fell in love with: fuchsia it is! Remember I told you about an exciting package that was delivered to my home address? Well, this is the first piece that was in it. It's from Aussie designer Jolie & Deen, which I've only known since recently but already adore very much. Feminine, a bit edgy and the most beautiful fabrics and colours, is how I would describe their autumn collection. Yep, autumn is coming up in Australia, if I made any of my readers from other parts in the world feel confused. I decided to keep my outfit wearing the Jolie & Deen "Sarra" top, very clean and simple. It's just so pretty on its own, so I didn't want to wear any big jewellery. I only added a tiny necklace with a stone which I got as a gift from my mom for my 20th birthday. As you guys probably know by now, Im going to Dubai tomorrow! (duhh, I've been talking about that on the blog since ever. LOL). But I just wanted to clarify one more time what's on the schedule for the next month. I'll be staying in Dubai from tomorrow untill the 28th of february at my boyfriends cousin place. Then we continue our journey to Lebanon to visit my boyfriends family. I'll be staying there for about 8 days and then I'll fly to Holland the 8th of march (which is one day after my birthday!). I'm going to see my family and friends again after 7 months and I'm seriously so excited about that. The 20th of march I'll be flying back to Lebanon to take a flight back to Perth with my boyfriend the 22nd. So, now you know everything. Ofcourse you're more then welcome to follow me at instagram @fashioncontainer to accompany me on my journey. I'll do my best to update my blog as frequently as possible.

Colourful statement

CITY VIEW
Kingspark, definitely one of my favorite spots here in Perth. The amazing view, the colourful parrots which are everywhere and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a place which is ideal to have a walk or chill out at one of the café's. I come there so often that I sometimes forget how stunningly beautiful it is, but I can remember how excited and amazed I was the first time I went to Kingspark. We also use this spot very often to take outfit pictures, as you might have noticed. Today I went to town to fix a couple of things related to our holiday. I did some last minute shopping (mostly gifts, not for me ;)) and I went to the bank. Unfortunately I forgot my passport so I had to go all the way home and back in a full train with sticky people, 37 degrees today, so that wasn't really the best experience. When I finally got home I was pleasantly surprised and a bit annoyed at the same time: a package was left at my front door. Upside: I got my package! Downside: which retard mail man leaves a package at a place where anyone who passes by can grab it? Anyway, the content of the package is very pleasant so I'll tell you more about that soon. I find myself feeling a bit restless these days. I guess it's because I'm travelling soon? Even though I've been travelling a lot over the years, it always gives me this adrenaline/nervosity/excitement feeling which I'm not sure about if it's a good or bad thing. Travelling for me means the world though, the feeling of having a blanco page before taking your flight and basically have a book full of memories when you return is for me the best thing in life.

Packing rituals

PACKING
Just giving you a little sneakpeek of my packing rituals for my one month holiday which is kicking off this saturday. First destination is Dubai, so excited! Today has been all about mixing and matching and putting outfits together and I have to say it's going pretty good so far. I know it might sound strange for some of you guys, but I'm actually looking forward to get dressed winter-weather appropriate. Yes, really. Hot temperatures everyday is really not everything and besides that I miss wearing layered outfits. I'm just hoping that my good organization will help me to pack only the necessary stuff and thus leave some space for shopping. Being all caught up in preparing my outfits didn't do much good for my room, which literally looks like it's in state of war right now. Clothes, shoes, jewellery are at all places they shouldn't be. Oh well, I'll deal with that tomorrow because now it's TV and tea time!

Tricolore

BAG CRUSH
Well hello monday. Time to get back to blog business as I've totally neglected my blog this weekend. So sorry about that! Saturday my boyfriend and I went into town to buy our friends and families presents and it seriously took us the whole day to finish. In the evening friends came over to our place to have some drinks before we went clubbing. Because I didn't drink since a long time I woke up the next day with a big hangover. Great. This is what I wore today: a see through lace top, palazzo pants and ofcourse my new bag which I told you about friday. Love the three colour style, a new bag crush for sure! The palazzo pants didn't look very photogenic in the pictures, so they didn't make it to the blog. Just try to imagine them.

Reflection

REDBLUEYELLOW
As temperatures in Perth went back to normal, so did my mood. The weather was perfect to do some powerwalking this morning, but I didn't go. I played soccer yesterday and it killed me. Seriously guys, soccer is the best work out. I did find the energy this morning to walk down to Sportsgirl to buy a bag which I saw yesterday night when I was doing some window shopping in the streets of my neighbourhood. It's my next bag crush for sure. It was about time though, because it's mostly two bags that dominate this blog at the moment (This white one from Mango and This Zara one). I don't want to bore you with my outfit-repeats but I'm unfortunately not one of those bloggers who can afford to show a different designer bag at their blog everyday ;). Anyway, I'm always doing my best to entertain you guys with my outfits and I hope you like it. This neon bag is a newbie at the blog though, I bought it last week at Valley Girl for a steal. It was $9 I believe. The outfit I'm wearing I would describe as sporty chic, a style which I really love because it never looks too girly. Do you have any plans for the weekend yet? I'm starting the weekend good with a dinner from my boyfriends work tonight. It's a good excuse to dress up a little, so I'm looking forward to that. Tomorrow my boyfriend and I are planning to go to town to buy some presents for our family and friends as we're flying to Dubai next saturday. Enjoy your weekend guys and don't forget to follow me on instagram @fashioncontainer to stay updated in between posts. I would also appreciate it very much if you like my facebook page

I WISH MANGO

The people who have been following my blog since I moved from Holland to Australia, know all about me whining about the fact that there's no Mango, Zara or H&M in Perth. Ofcourse I'm super excited that from the 23rd of february I'll be visiting three countries where they have my favorite chains (Halleluja!). I'm preparing my shopping-sessions by browsing every little corner of the online stores to have an idea of what I would like to have. Especially Mango is favorite, in my point of view they do a better and better job every season. Isn't that trench coay just amazing, for example? Zara, on the other side heavily disappointed me. I would describe most of their new collection as granny and unflattering.

Simplicity rocks

BLOODY HOT
For you guys who are in the middle of winter now it's probably hard to imagine, but the weather here in Perth has been so crazy hot the last days. Seriously, 40 degrees is NOT fun. I've spend the last days mostly by sitting in the livingroom with the airconditioning on max and going outside as little as possible. I'm really craving some normal temperatures so I can go powerwalking in the morning and do my usual stuff. I was in the mood for a simple, clean outfit yesterday so I decided to pair this floral skirt from H&M with a nice tailored white shirt from Zara. My metallic silver shoes always do a great job at spicing up any outfit, I consider these beauties definitely as one my best buys of 2012. So today is another day where I'm locking myself inside the house to escape the heat. Just spending the day blogging, answering emails and that sort of stuff. I'm also browsing the internet to find a job. I wanna start after I get back from my holidays, which is the end of march. So, if any of my Perth readers knows anything, please let me know. For the people who were under the assumption that I'm currently working here and there in some clothing stores: Yes, maybe once in two weeks for 3 hours, what a joke. You've probably read a glimpse about my frustrations before, but I prefer to not talk about it again. Let's just say that after my holiday's I'll come back with a new spirit and I'll try to make the best of it. Tonight we've got friends coming over to our place, good company always makes me happy. I guess we'll spend the evening in our back garden smoking a shisha and have some drinks.

Double blue

GOOD SPIRIT
"You don't need a new year to make a change...All you need is a monday". Let's start the week with a good spirit! I haven't been feeling very good the last days and I'm not exactly sure why, but what I do know is that I'm fed up with that mood. I've decided to change the blog layout a bit, because I believe one picture without text doesn't do a good job at representing the blog post. I hope you like it as much as I do and if you have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them. I'm wearing another blue outfit, I'm really crazy about this colour lately as you might have noticed. I picked up this pretty dress last weekend when I went to do some shopping with my boyfriend. We actually went to buy him stuff, but I couldn't resist checking out a store which a friend of mine recommended. She was totally right, they indeed have awesome stuff for a great price at Jacquie. The print of this dress reminds me a lot of a Petter Pilotto skirt that I've been obssessing over. This one, remember? The dress was a good occassion to wear my Zara snakeskin heels, I love them but I really don't wear them enough.
